What are my Username and Password?
Macquarie Undergraduate & Postgraduate Students
Currently two Usernames are in use to access the University's IT systems. They are:
- Student ID Number
- MQID
Student ID Number is used to access most systems, replacing the use of MQID and providing a consistent sign on. A key benefit from this is the synchronisation of the password for all these systems. A summary of the Username and Password that are needed for access to these systems is in the table below.

SIBT Students
- Username = student number from your campus card
- Password = last 8 digits of the barcode number on your library card. (For example, if your barcode number is 2 2109 05413 0151 then your Password is 54130151.)
- Use for access to E-Readings on Reserve. (More information)
- You may access databases and online journals on-campus.
- To renew loans or view your borrowing information, click Borrower in the Catalogue and follow the instructions.
Academic & General Staff
- Username = your staff number (Contract staff: please capitalise
the SB in your staff number.)
- Password = last 8 digits of the barcode number on your library
card. (For example, if your barcode number is 2 2109 05413 0151,
your Password is 54130151.)
- Use for access to E-Readings on Reserve and remote (off-campus) access to Databases and Online Journals.
- To renew loans or view your borrowing information, click Borrower in the Catalogue and follow the instructions.
Associate Borrowers
- To view your borrowing information, click Borrower in the Catalogue and follow the instructions.
- You may access most databases and online journals from within the Library.
